When joining our Kemer tour to north Cyprus, you can expect to explore the history, culture, and current affairs of this Mediterranean island. The excursion begins in the early morning, with a drive from your hotel to the airport. From there, you will fly to north Cyprus, and land in Famagusta. To make the tour smoother and joyful, a professional guide will accompany you during the day. Hence, expect to listen to some detailed descriptions and rest assured for a wonderful day. In Famagusta, you will visit Varosha, and admire the sandy, unspoiled bays. Varosha used to be Cyprus’ most cosmopolitan area before the events of 1974. Your guide will explain some key information, and answer your questions. The schedule includes, also, a visit at the Bellapais Abbey, a 13th century, Gothic style monastery.
As the bus drives you toward Nicosia, expect to visit the Othello Castle, from where the homonym work of Shakespeare took inspiration from. Your guide will explain everything you need to know about this spectacular structure. Nicosia is the capital city, and an interesting highlight is that, up until today, remains divided between the two communities living on the island, the Greek, and the Turkish Cypriots. At Ledra Palace Hotel, that used to be the largest building in the area, you will visit the boarders, and learn important aspects of the island’s modern history. The day tour continues with a drive to Kerynia, where you will visit the Castle of Saint Hilarion. When the sightseeing is over, expect to spend two hours of free time in the city centre of Kerynia. The charming, narrow streets, and the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the city, are about to excite you. Don’t miss the chance to shop some souvenirs, and to stroll around the picture-perfect harbour of Kerynia. In the afternoon, the bus will drive you back to Famagusta, to catch your flight back to Turkey. Upon landing, a modern and comfortable bus will transfer you at your hotel.
